Hosta 'Academy Smiles'
 

Registered by Steve Chamberlain of New York in 2008, this upright growing cultivar is of unidentified parentage. It is a mediums size hosta about 12 inches high by 30 inches wide with medium green foliage that has yellow to white marginal variegation. The leaves are slightly rippled, moderately flat, ovate and dull on top. Pale purple, striped flowers bloom from mid-July into August followed by purple and green striped seed pods.

According to the registration materials: "...small to medium yellow margined, lightening to white during season, showy flowers...margin whitens during season..."
