Hosta
'Academy Speckled Caddy Spoons'

Registered by Steve Chamberlain of New York in 2008, this cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Allegan Fog'. This miniature size hosta grows only about 4 inches high by 10 inches wide with light green foliage that has darker green "speckled" variegation. The leaves are slightly rippled, slightly twisted, slightly folded, ovate, slightly cupped and dull on top. Dark lavender, striped flowers bloom from June into July followed by brownish purple seed pods.

According to the registration materials: "...small hosta with folded leaves, grass-clipping stippling and viridescent. Reblooms in August...speckled variegation is lost as the leaf lightens during the season..."
