Hosta 'Academy Speckled Vase'

Registered by Steve Chamberlain of New York in 2008, this medium size (16 inches high by 20 inches wide) cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Allegan Fog'. The slightly blue-green foliage has a "stippling" type of variegation and is heavily rippled, slightly cupped, slightly folded, ovate and has a glaucous bloom on top. Lavender, striped flowers bloom from mid-July into August on scapes up to 16 inches tall.

According to the registration materials: "...unique stiffly upright blue-green with grass-clipping stippling...lightens to medium green through the season..."
