Hosta 'Ace of Spades'

This is one of those cases where there are two hostas with the same name. One is registered and, therefore, the "official" version of H. 'Ace of Spades' while the other is a non-registered plant and needs to be renamed to avoid further confusion.

Ernest Lunsford Jr. of Georgia registered this seedling of H. 'Blue Wedgwood' in 1993. The medium size (16 inches high by 36 inches wide) plant has dark green foliage which is dull on top and bottom. It bears pale lavender flowers from late May into June on scapes up to 18 inches tall.

Hosta Helper will call this plant 'Ace of Spades' (Lunsford)

Dr. Ralph (Herb) Benedict of Michigan also originated a plant by this name but it was eventually renamed H. 'Scooby Doo'.
