This cultivar was listed on the
MyHostas Database website.
As a non-registered sport of
H. longipes, this
hosta should be a small to
medium size (6 to 10 inches high with a spread of 8 to 12 inches) with
foliage that is medium to dark green, smooth textured and has thick
substance. Leaves are very shiny underneath, slightly wavy and
heart shaped bases. It has dense clusters of pale purple flowers
with purple anthers borne on
20 to 30 inch scapes in August into September.
We do not know how this cultivar is
different from the species form and habit. It is named
for a region of Japan, most likely where it was found.
