Peter Ruh of Ohio registered this cultivar on behalf of the
Hajime Sugita of Japan in
2000. It is a hybrid of
H. kiyosumiensis x
pycnophylla which grows into a large size hosta about 19 inches in height with a
width of 58 inches. The medium green foliage has deep veins with
an elliptic shape and petioles with a lavender-purple
coloration. Its leaf bottoms are whitish in color and this
cultivar blooms in August.
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...continues to be one of my favorites of the Sugita-Ruh
series of hybrids."
