H. rectifolia
'Aomori Setting Sun'

This cultivar originated in its native Japan in the Aormori Prefecture and was discovered in the wild by Kimio Muroya. This naturally occurring sport of Hosta rectifolia was registered by Mark Zilis on his behalf in 2009.

It is an upright, medium to large size hosta about 18 inches high by 40 inches wide with medium green foliage with creamy yellow marginal variegation. The leaves are ovate shaped, slightly shiny on top  and very shiny on the bottom. Medium purple flowers bloom from mid-July into August on scapes 36 to 40 inches tall followed by viable seeds.
