Hosta 'Aspiring Angel'

 

Registered by Charles Kwick of Wisconsin in 2019, this rhizomatous, miniature size (3.5 inches high by 20 inches wide) cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Sunshine Glory' × H. 'Carol'. The foliage is yellow, slightly folded, slightly shiny on top and slightly wavy at the margins. Its petioles emerge greenish-yellow before changing to green. Pale purple flowers "surrounded by white and alternate petals" have translucent margins. The bloom from late July into August on 12 to 18 inch tall scapes that have red speckles.

The registration materials state: "...Small, yellow-green rhizomatous hosta that is fairly prolific. Seasonal Color: emerges yellow turning to a bit greener throughout the season."
