Hosta 'Beauty Mark'

Originated by Mark Zilis of T&Z or Q&Z Nursery in Illinois and registered by Ed Schulz of Iowa in 2020, this fast growing, large size (26 inches high by 52 inches wide) cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Rosedale Dough Boy' × H. 'Korean Snow'.

It has broadly ovate, medium green foliage that is slightly cupped, moderately rippled, moderately corrugated and slightly shiny on top. Medium lavender flowers bloom from mid-July into August on scapes 28 to 34 inches tall. It sets seed but their viability was not known at the time of registration.

The registration materials state: "...Dense mass of flowers with rare seed set atop a mound of deeply veined leaves with piecrusted margins...holds med green color all season...lightly cupped, wavy and corrugated overall with deeply impressed veins...splash of white on interior of each petal."
