Hosta 'Beauty Mark'

Originated by Mark Zilis of T&Z or Q&Z Nursery in Illinois and registered by Ed Schulz of Iowa in 2020, this fast growing, large size (26 inches high by 52 inches wide) cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Rosedale Dough Boy' H. 'Korean Snow'.

It has broadly ovate, medium green foliage that is slightly cupped, moderately rippled, moderately corrugated and slightly shiny on top. Medium lavender flowers bloom from mid-July into August on scapes 28 to 34 inches tall. It sets seed but their viability was not known at the time of registration.

The registration materials state: "...Dense mass of flowers with rare seed set atop a mound of deeply veined leaves with piecrusted margins...holds med green color all season...lightly cupped, wavy and corrugated overall with deeply impressed veins...splash of white on interior of each petal."
