Hosta 'Bedford Rise and Shine'

The label pictured above adds an 's to the name but The Book of Little Hostas (2010) calls it Hosta 'Bedford Rise and Shine'.

Originated by Ian Chrystal in England, this non-registered cultivar is of unidentified parentage. This cultivar has oval shaped leaves that are deeply veined and have red petioles. It is a fast growing plant that forms a dense set of foliage that is about 8 inches tall and 12 inches wide.

According to The Book of Little Hostas by Kathy Guest Shadrack and Michael Shadrack (2010), "Needs morning sun to promote good leaf and petiole color..."
