Hosta 'Bensheim'

This non-registered cultivar is a sport of H. 'Fortunei Albopicta' from Heinz Klose of Germany. It grows to a large size (26 inches high by 46 inches wide) with green foliage that has irregular streaked variegation. From late July into August, it bears pale lavender flowers.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...was listed for many years as H. fortunei 'Bensheim' and can still be found as such in some catalogs."

"Plant is a H. 'Fortunei' form with irregular yellow stripes." Someone named "Zieke" was listed as the originator by Schmid.
