Hosta 'Bitter Lemons'

Originated by Steve Schulte of Foxfire Gardens in Wisconsin, this non-registered cultivar is of unidentified parentage. It is a small size plant about 8 inches high by 20 inches wide. The foliage is medium gold colored, slightly wavy and narrowly ovate. Leaves turn more green as the summer progresses. Its medium purple flowers bloom in July on scapes about 10 inches tall.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...offers attractively dense mound habit, contrasting purple flowers, and gold foliage. It also has an excellent growth rate."
