Hosta 'Blue Circle'

This is one of those cases where there are two hostas with the same name. Neither is registered with The American Hosta Society. The first one to be registered would become the "official" hosta of that name and the other would have to be renamed.

This non-registered, medium size cultivar is a sport of H. 'Blue Shadows' from Piet Warmerdam of the Netherlands. It has blue-green foliage with yellow medial (center) variegation. The leaves have thick substance. Near white flowers bloom from mid-June into July.

Hosta Helper will call this plant 'Blue Circle' (Warmerdam)

The MyHostas Database lists 'Blue Circle' twice with Dr. Ben J.M. Zonneveld of the Netherlands as the originator of this cultivar with H. 'Blue Moon' as the parent plant.
