Hosta 'Bordeaux'

Originated by Dave Bowe of Ohio, this cultivar was registered in 2021 as a seedling of H. 'One Man's Treasure' × H. 'Designer Genes'. It is a medium size (15 inches high by 23 inches wide) hosta with green foliage. The ovate leaves are slightly wavy and slightly corrugated. Its petioles have dark red speckles which extend up into the midrib of the leaf blade. It bears deep purple, tubular flowers from August into September and sets seeds but their viability was unknown at the time of registration.

According to the Registration materials: "Burgundy red petiole color extends up into the leaf.  Flowers bloom several at a time and red scapes branch occasionally...waxy & dull at emergence becoming shiny by mid-summer."
