This
self-pollinated seedling of H. 'Holly's
Honey' was registered by
Dr. Ralph
(Herb) and
Dorothy Benedict and
Hideko Gowen in 1990. It is a
Hosta ventricosa type
hosta with purple flowers in July. The medium sized (16 inches high) mound has
rippled, shiny green leaves that have an upturned
effect.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis
(2009), this cultivar "...was the first hosta of note with
upturned tips."
Similar cultivars include H. 'Stirfry'.
