Hosta 'Bridgeville'

This fast growing cultivar of unidentified parentage was originated by Dr. Miazawa of Japan but was registered on his behalf by Peter Ruh of Ohio in 1999. It is a large size hosta about 23 inches high by 46 inches wide which has green foliage with yellow marginal variegation. The margin changes from chartreuse to yellow as the season progresses (lutescent). Its leaves are elliptic shaped, moderately wavy and shiny on the bottom. Lavender flowers bloom from late July into August.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...can be effectively used as a ground cover or specimen plant."
