Hosta 'Bright Star'
 

This tetraploid sport of H. 'Dark Star' was originated by Jan van den Top from the Netherlands. 'Bright Star' is a small size plant about 6 inches high and about 13 inches wide with dark green foliage and a cream white marginal variegation.  It has narrowly ovate leaves with good substance and bears lavender flowers from July into August.

Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of Hosta plant named ‘Bright Star’, characterized by its upright to outwardly spreading foliage with upright flower scapes; thick, dark green and white variegated leaves; light purple-colored flowers that are positioned above the foliar plane on strong scapes; and good garden performance.
