Hosta 'Bronx Bomber'

A sport of H. 'Pin Stripe Sister', this cultivar is a non-registered hosta from Alex Malloy of New York. It is a medium size plant about 18 inches high by 30 inches wide with leaves that are broadly ovate shaped, slightly corrugated, slightly wavy and slightly shiny on top. Very pale lavender, tubular flowers bloom from late June into July.

I strongly suspect that this hosta is named for Babe Ruth i.e. The Bronx Bomber although a Google search would indicate several other alternative explanations.
