Hosta 'Bushuu Nishiki'

Originated by Katsuyoshi Tanaka of Japan, this non-registered cultivar is of unidentified parentage. It is a medium size hosta with green foliage and a white marginal variegation. The white color also streaks into the green center of the leaf. Its foliage is ovate, slightly wavy and has smooth texture.

Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled, A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term nishiki as brocade (rich-colored woven fabric) i.e. something colorful and beautiful.
