Hosta 'Chartreuse'

This seedling selection of H. rectifolia was registered in 1998 by Peter Ruh of Ohio on behalf of the originator, Gladys Holly of Wisconsin. It forms a medium size hosta about 16 inches high with a spread of about 41 inches in width. The foliage starts the season bright gold and turns to medium green as the season progresses. It bears medium purple flowers from late July into August.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...not much for substance and its flowers are only ornamentally average, but it makes an acceptable green ground cover after its burst of spring color."
