Hosta 'Chiemsee Madonna'

Originated by Volker Eschenbach of Planwerk Staudengärtnerei nursery in Germany, this non-registered cultivar is a sport of H. ‘Dinky Donna' that has a more uniformly light, blue-green color than the mother plant. The small size (7 inches high by 13 inches wide) mound has an unruly growth habit and cupped, slightly flat, slightly corrugated leaves which are slightly shiny on top. Its lavender flowers bloom from late June into July.

The largest lake in Bavaria is the Chiemsee, which is otherwise known as the "Bavarian Sea".
