Hosta 'Childhood Sweetheart'

This cultivar is a hybrid of (H. 'Neat Splash' × H. 'Tardiflora') x H. 'Shining Tot' that was registered by Hans Hansen of Minnesota in 2005. It forms a medium size (16 inches high by 32 inches wide) clump with wavy leaves and reddish petioles. The flowers are pale lavender and bloom in late August followed by viable seeds.

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Moderate growth rate. A robust border plant."

The potted plant shown above was labeled 'Childhood Sweetheart' but it does not have the dark green leaf center that is supposed to be representative of this cultivar. Perhaps the darker color would develop under different light conditions or as the plant matures or...this could be mislabeled.
