Hosta 'Chirifu Ogon Himetokudama'

This is a form of H. 'Ogon Hime Tokudama' that originated in Japan. It is a green colored plant with variegated foliage. The medium size mound grows to about 10 inches in height with a spread of 24 inches. The foliage is slightly wavy and has smooth texture. Pale lavender flowers bloom from late June into July.

Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled, A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term chirifu as speckled, mottled or overall variegated and the term ogon or oogon as gold or yellow.
