Hosta 'Coach Beets Dotson'
 

Registered by Franc Freeman of Iowa in 2011, this small size (10 inches high by 17 inches wide) cultivar is of unidentified parentage. It is a rhizomatous, upright growing hosta with green foliage that has white and yellow streaked variegation. The leaves are ovate, slightly flat and dull on top. Tubular flowers bloom from mid-July into August on scapes up to 21 inches tall.

Bill (Beets) Dotson was the wrestling coach at Dubuque High School in Iowa and is a member of the Iowa Wrestling Hall of Fame.
