Hosta 'Colonel Murphy'

This cultivar of unidentified parentage was registered by Steve and Sarah Zolock of Pennsylvania in 2001. The giant size (30 inches high by 60 inches wide) hosta has an upright form and leaves that are intensely blue-green in color. Lavender flowers bloom from mid-July into September on scapes up to 38 inches tall.

The name may refer to a famous Colonel in the Civil War...but we don't know for certain.
