Another of the many sports of H. 'August Moon', this is a non-registered cultivar from Alex Summers of Delaware. Its leaves are dark green with a gold margin variegation. The medium to large size plant produces lavender flowers in July and into August.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "More than one plant has borne the name 'Dark Moon', but Alex Summers' plant was the first known to collectors."
