Hosta 'Do Wop'

A hybrid of H. 'Fragrant Blue' × H. 'Halcyon', this cultivar was registered by Tony Avent of Plant Delights Nursery in North Carolina in 2007. The miniature size (4˝ inches high by 17 inches wide) hosta has intensely blue-green foliage.

The leaves are ovate, slightly folded, glaucous on top and have a petiole that is deeply indented. Tubular flowers are borne from mid-July into August on scapes up to 18 inches tall.

We assume that this is a play on the name of the music genre, Doo Wop, from the 1950s and 60s...but we don't know for sure.
