Hosta 'Evening Shadows'

The result of a cross of H. 'Lily Pad' × H. 'Lakeside Sir Logan', this upright growing, medium size (15 inches high by 28 inches wide) cultivar was originated by Mark Zilis of Illinois and registered by Jim Schwarz of Jim's Hostas of Iowa (now owned by Uniquely Hostas of Wisconsin) in 2012.

It has medium blue-green foliage that is broadly ovate, moderately cupped with a very shiny top. Medium lavender, spider shaped flowers bloom from July into August. It sets seeds but their viability was undetermined at the time of registration. This cultivar was described as "very large ruffled blue green, rubbery looking, downward cupping."
