Hosta 'Evening Star'
 

This cultivar of unidentified parentage which was originated by Kenji Watanabe of Japan and registered by Peter Ruh of Ohio in 2001. It is a medium size hosta with wavy, green foliage. Nearly blue (dark lavender) flowers bloom from mid-August into September.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...long known as 'Blue Star' in both Japan and the United States, but when another hosta was registered with that name, Peter Ruh changed it to 'Evening Star'."
