Hosta
'First Class'

This is one of those cases where there are two hostas with the same name. One is registered and, therefore, the "official" version of H. 'First Class' while the other is a non-registered plant and needs to be renamed to avoid further confusion.

A small size (6 inches high by 10 inches wide) hosta, this cultivar, which is a hybrid of H. 'Grand Master', was registered by Gayle Kamp of Indiana in 2001. The leaves are dark green, cupped, ovate and slightly shiny on top. It bears tubular shaped flowers from June into July on scapes about 15 inches tall.

Hosta Helper will call this plant 'First Class' (Kamp)

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), this non-registered cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Grand Master' from Bill Meyer of New Jersey. It is a blue-green hosta with yellow and light green streaked variegation.

Hosta Helper will call this plant 'First Class' (Meyer)
