Hosta 'First Grandchild'
 

Registered by Frank Nyikos of Walnut Grove Nursery in Indiana in 2017, is a small size (9 inches high by 18 inches wide), rhizomatous sport of H. 'Ganny Sandy'. It has light green foliage with creamy white marginal variegation. The leaves are slightly rippled, slightly wavy overall, dull on top and slightly shiny on the bottom. Medium purple flowers with darker purple veins bloom from June into July on scapes up to 20 inches tall followed by seed set.

The registration materials state: "...Fast growing stable edged sport. This small hosta quickly carpets borders or acts as excellent understory for larger hostas...Maintains color throughout season."
