Hosta 'Flemish Melody'

 

Registered by Danny Van Eechaute of Belgium in 2008, this fast growing, upright cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Redneck Heaven'. It is a small size plant about 9 inches high by 17 inches wide with medium green foliage. The leaves are moderately twisted, lanceolate, heavily rippled and slightly shiny on top with red petioles. Near white flowers with stripes bloom from mid-July into August on red scapes about 17 inches tall.

According to the registration materials: "...beautifully vase-shaped plant that shows red petioles very well, good substance, red petioles, white backs and twisted leaf tips..."
