Hosta 'Floating on Air'

Registered by Mary Vertz of Wisconsin in 2020, this medium size (16 inches high by 38 inches wide) cultivar is of unidentified parentage. It is an intensely blue-green hosta with nearly round foliage that is slightly rippled, slightly cupped and heavily corrugated with a glaucous bloom on top. Near white flowers bloom from mid-July into August.

The registration materials state: "...Nearly round corrugated leaves lay out in a fairly flat form that appears to be floating above the ground...'Floating on Air' is a volunteer seedling that grew next to ‘Bamse’. It has similar plant habit as ‘Bamse’ (but a little taller), so it is possible that Bamse’ is a parent of ‘Floating on Air'."
