Hosta 'Frensham Basking Viper'

Registered by June Colley and John Baker of England in 2020, this upright growing, medium size (22 inches high by 32 inches wide) cultivar is an open-pollinated seedling of H. 'Peanut'.

It is a blue-green hosta and its broadly ovate foliage is occasionally twisted, heavily corrugated with a glaucous bloom on top. Pale lavender, bell-shaped flowers bloom from June into July on scapes about 19 inches tall followed by viable seeds.

The registration materials state: "...Heavy corrugation with closely spaced puckering and unruly foliage...turns green in late summer or if exposed to very bright light."
