Hosta 'Friar Tuck'

Jim Schwarz of Jim's Hostas of Iowa (now owned by Uniquely Hostas of Wisconsin) registered this sport of H. 'Sum It Up' in 2000. It grows to a height of 36 inches with a spread of around 80 inches. The unruly green foliage has a chartreuse colored marginal variegation. Lavender flowers bloom in August.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "In the garden 'Friar Tuck' takes on a most unusual character. The way its foliage bends and twists, then curves under at the margin, is magnified by the large size and extremely thick substance."
