Hosta 'Frosted Frolic'

Originated by Ron Livingston of Michigan but registered on his behalf by AHS/G. H. Alley in 2020, this small size (9 inches high by 24 inches wide) cultivar is of unidentified parentage. Its leaves are "grayish olive green" (NN137C RHS Colour Chart) with a pale yellow green (4D RHS Colour Chart) marginal variegation and the color pattern also extends down the entire petiole. The broadly ovate leaves are slightly corrugated, slightly convexly cupped and slightly shiny on top. Pale lavender flowers with lavender stripes that are darker toward the inner base of the petals bloom from July into August on scapes 10 to 12 inches tall followed by viable seeds.

The registration materials state: "...Petite yet hardy clump of thick, two-tone green leaves with yellow to creamy white margins...margins turn almost white by mid-season."
