This cultivar is a medium size (13 inches high by 37 inches wide) seedling of H. ventricosa 'Aureomaculata' was registered by Mark Zilis of Illinois in 1985. The foliage emerges yellow in the spring but changes to cream and green mottled early in the season and ends the year all green. Purple flowers bloom in July.
