Hosta 'Gekko'

This is a cultivar from Japan which is of unidentified parentage that was registered by Peter Ruh of Ohio in 2002 and re-registered with new data in 2018. It forms a miniature size (3.5 inches high by 8 inches wide) mound of light green foliage with yellow to creamy white marginal variegation.

The leaves are ovate, slightly twisted, moderately folded, dull on top and slightly shiny on the bottom. Lavender-purple, striped flowers bloom in August on scapes 14 to 16 inches tall followed by viable seeds.

The registration materials state: "...variegated dwarf, grows flat; wide white edge makes leaf twist...obtained from Gotemba Nursery..."
