Hosta takahashii

'Gosan'

Oops! Sure looks as if this green hosta is labeled as H. 'Takahosii Gosan' but it should read H. takahashii 'Gosan'. - Mr PGC

This is a selection of a species that is a non-registered cultivar by George Schmid of Georgia. It grows into a medum size hosta about 15 inches high and 3 feet wide with lightly rippled foliage of average substance. The leaves have slight purple to red dots on the petioles. Purple flowers bloom in August.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "All of the H. takahashii plants grown in the U.S. are this George Schmid selection. By growing this form, you can be assured that you have "true" Hosta takahashii."
