Hosta 'Gus'

Originated in Japan but registered in 2008 by Peter and Jean Ruh of Ohio and re-registered with new data in 2018, this medium (?) size (11 inches high by 11 inches wide) cultivar is of unidentified parentage. The light green foliage is slightly twisted, slightly folded, slightly cupped and dull on top. Pale purple, heavily striped, tubular flowers bloom from late July into August on scapes up to 25 inches tall.

According to the registration materials: "...all green miniature plant with long petioles..."

The registration information says that the height of this plant is 11 in. (28 cm) high and 11 in. (28 cm) wide but it also says that this is a "miniature" size plant which should be a plant less than 6 inches high. We suspect that there is an error in the height data entry. Also, the scapes are listed as being 25 inches tall which would also be unusual if the plant is truly a miniature.
