Hosta 'Blue Mammoth'

This non-registered giant (34 inches high) hosta of H. sieboldiana breeding was introduced by Paul Aden in the 1980's. Its leaves are moderately corrugated and generally unruly in habit. The near white flowers open in mid-June to July and form numerous seed pods.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "Whenever I'm asked to identify the berst big blue-leaved cultivars, 'Blue Mammoth' always comes to mind (with 'Blue Angel')."

Similar cultivars include H. 'Eleanor J. Reath', H. 'Gray Cole', and H. 'Ryan's Big One'.
