Hosta 'Kalamazoo'

This cultivar is called a stable form of H. 'Valley's Top' and it was registered by Jeroen Linneman of the Netherlands in 2008. It is a medium size (20 inches high by 32 inches wide) plant with slightly rippled foliage. Lavender flowers bloom from July into August on scapes 28 inches high followed by viable seeds.

Registration materials state: "...nice wavy margin, glaucous white underneath, margin changes to white through season."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Moderate to good growth rate but needs several seasons for the leaves to expand to their full width. A colorful and shapely hosta. A superb new introduction that sometimes produces streaked seedlings...heavily ribbed cascading leaves."
