H. kikutii
'Kifukurin Hyuga'

This cultivar from Japan is a sport of the species that forms a medium size (18 inches high by 36 inches wide) mound of yellow margined foliage with deep lavender flowers in September. It was registered in 2002 by Peter Ruh of Ohio.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...sometimes incorrectly listed as H. kikutii 'Aureomarginata'."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Moderate to good growth rate...Heavily ribbed cascading leaves."

Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled, A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term kifukurin or ki fukurin as yellow edge(d) or yellow margin(ed).
