Hosta 'Kiwi Blue Marble'

A non-registered sport of H. 'Hadspen Blue', this cultivar was originated by Barry Sligh of Taunton Gardens in New Zealand. Its leaves are blue-green with gold streaked variegation. This large size (18 inches high by 41 inches wide) plant has slightly cupped and corrugated foliage with thick substance. It bears very pale lavender flowers from late July into August.

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Slow to increase...Leaf color is at its most intense in early summer, gradually darkening to almost pure blue that then assumes a green tinge."
