Hosta 'Laurentina'
 

Registered by Martin Lokies of Germany in 2014, this is an upright growing, medium size (15 inches high by 11 inches wide) cultivar is a hybrid of H. 'Galaxy'. This medium to dark green hosta has chartreuse yellow to cream colored streaked variegation. The leaves are ovate, slightly wavy and slightly shiny on top. Tubular flowers bloom from mid-July into August on scapes up to 16 inches tall followed by purple seed pods.

According to the registration materials: "...unusual purple seed pods, ideal in container...very unstable variegation..."


The Via Laurentina was an ancient road of Italy, leading southwards from Rome.
