Hosta 'Lemon Drop'

This is one of those cases where there are two hostas with the same name. Neither are currently registered with The American Hosta Society. The first one to be registered would become the "official" hosta of that name and the others would have to be renamed.

A medium size hosta, this non-registered cultivar of unidentified parentage was originated by Rod Lysne of Northern Grown Perennials in Wisconsin. The gold colored foliage is especially bright in the spring. Its leaves are lanceolate and wavy.

Hosta Helper will call this plant 'Lemon Drop' (Lysne).

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), there was another plant from Bruce Banyai with this name but that was changed to H. 'Sun Drop'. It is a green hosta with a yellow-gold marginal variegation which was a sport of 'Gold Drop'.

Hosta Helper will call this plant 'Lemon Drop' (Bruce Banyai).
