Hosta 'Light Ray'

This is one of those cases where there are two hostas with the same name. One is registered and, therefore, the "official" version of H. 'Light Ray' while the other is a non-registered plant and needs to be renamed to avoid further confusion.

Registered by Bob Solberg of Green Hill Farm in North Carolina in 2016, this upright growing, large size (20 inches high by 38 inches wide) cultivar is of unidentified parentage. The medium green foliage has creamy white marginal variegation. Its leaves are relatively flat, broadly ovate and slightly shiny on top. Flowers bloom from June into July.

The registration materials state, "Emerges with light yellow margins that turn creamy white."

Hosta Helper will call this plant 'Light Ray' (Solberg)

MyHostas Database lists another, non-registered cultivar of this name from Graham Ray of North Carolina. It is a dark green hosta with white marginal variegation. It is similar to H. 'Victory'.
