Hosta 'Love Child'

This is one of those cases where there are two hostas with the same name. Neither is registered with The American Hosta Society. The first one to be registered would become the "official" hosta of that name and the other would have to be renamed.

This non-registered cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Galaxy' originated by Chick Wasitis of Bridgewood Gardens from Maryland. It is a small size hosta with green foliage that has a white medial (center) variegation.

Hosta Helper will call this plant 'Love Child' (Wasitis)

MyHostas Database lists another hosta by this name which is a sport of H. 'Illicit Affair' and has streaked foliage. The small size plant grows to a height of about 10 inches and a width of 2 feet. Its leaves are ovate shaped and moderately wavy. The flowers are widely flared, pale purple in color and they bloom in July.
