A small size (7 inches high by 19 inches wide) hosta, this cultivar is a sport of H. 'Sheila Macqueen' and was originated by Pierre Bennerup of Connecticut and Alex Malloy of New York. In 2001, Malloy registered 'Magna Carta'. The green hosta has a white medial (center) variegation which starts the season yellow. Lavender flowers bloom in July.
