Hosta 'Milky Way'

This is one of those cases where there are three hostas with the same name. Neither is registered with The American Hosta Society. The first one to be registered would become the "official" hosta of that name and the other would have to be renamed.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "I've seen three hostas with this name..."

"...I observed one during the 1987 National Convention of The American Hosta Society in Wilmington, Delaware. This was a white centered version of 'Gold Standard' and probably no longer exists."

"I found another 'Milky Way' in Van Wade's of Ohio's collection in 2005. This potted plant had heavily streaked and mottled, green and creamy white foliage. It may be the same as the plant pictured on the Hosta Library. .."

"I recently saw another 'Milky Way' in the collection of John Van Ostrand...It is a seedling he selected for its heavily misted, 'Spilt Milk'-type variegation in the leave center (medium green margin)."
